Downeast Projects
Here's a map of the wind projects in the Downeast. It shows projects that are completed, under construction and in the data gathering phase. The term 'MET' refers to the meteorological towers used to monitor wind speed and direction at a site. A met tower is a tall, tubular steel tower measuring 6-8" in diameter. The towers erected by First Wind are 197' tall. If they were 200' tall, the FAA would require red strobe lights on them for safety. By keeping them below 200' tall, they remain dark and may go unnoticed for a period of time. 'DP' stands for Development Permit.

Print this one out and display it proudly.
